Fellow Rotarians,

Just a brief note this week since we do not have a meeting on Thanksgiving Thursday.  I logged onto the SSRC Website today to find a number of pictures for the recent Dictionary distribution project at Yavapai Elementary.  Pics were great and really highlighted the appreciation by both the students and the faculty for receiving the dictionaries.  I want to thank all of the SSRC Rotarians who participated in this project and all of the SSRC service projects to date and going forward.  We have another 6 months during the current Rotary year to demonstrate our dedication to our community including Alli Ortega Empty Bowls project on Nov. 30 at Scottsdale Community College, Bike assembly on Dec. 3 at Paiute Community Center, Special Day for Special Kids in March and other activities.

I will be speaking to the Board about additional ideas to have fun throughout the rest of the year for SSRC members, spouses and families.  Please sign up for the Suns game in January.. should be lots of fun..we may see a win!  Let David Lewis or Evie Heberger know if you are interested. I picked up information at Octane Racing, an indoor mini-cart tract with bowling, games and lots of room for socialization as a possible SSRC activity.  Please let me know by e-mail or in person your thoughts.  We can also convene another happy hour with local clubs.. that seemed to work out well.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.

Yours in Rotary,

Alan W. Bakst, President
