What a great success last week's golf fundraiser was! We had over 70 golfers participate and we will hopefully meet our monetary goals through the silent auction, golfers, and raffle ticket sales. We'll have a preliminary total of what we raised available at this week's meeting.
Many, many thank you to all Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary Club members for helping make our tournament so successful. Members solicited raffle and silent auction prizes, sponsored golf holes, donated cash, helped out at the event, put together foursomes, and even played golf. What a fun day was had by all! Of course the beneficiaries of our efforts are the kids that attend and enjoy Special Day for Special Kids coming up in 3 weeks.
Our speaker this week is Jean Herschede of Amigos de Guatemala. Amigos de Guatemala focuses on providing financial support and opportunities for all young people in Latin America to receive and complete their primary and high school education, as well as providing access to good medical care.
