Fellow SSRC Rotarians,

This past week our speaker was Carol Kralicek who is the District Public Image officer.  Carol discussed the importance of communicating our club service and fundraising activities to the Scottsdale Community.  Carol praised our SSRC Website and told us she has been using it as a model which other clubs should adopt.  Carol was very pleased that through the efforts of Sandon Nixon and others that the SSRC website is up to date.

Yesterday, Terry Kutzbach and I met with Erin Dahl, a 15 year tenure Spanish teacher at Saguaro High School who has agreed to be the advisor of the new Rotary Interact Club at Saguaro.  She shared with us that when she was a student at Saguaro, she won an essay contest about the 4 way test!  Erin is very excited to for the Interact club together and has many other teacher contact at the school to spread the word about the group.  Currently, they have about 6-7 mostly underclassmen interested and hope to attract junior and senior into the club as well.  Today, I sent the paperwork for DG Tonya Watson to sign.  My hope is to have a ceremony with Erin, possibly the Saguaro Principal and DG Tonya to bestow their Interact certificate when she visits in December.

Next SSRC Board meeting is Wedneday, October 12 at 5:30 pm at Scottsdale Mustang Library.

Our speaker this week is Joe Ducey, Investigative Reporter for ABC-TV channel 15.  Joe will have a number of interesting stories for us...I am looking forward to an exciting meeting.

Yours in Rotary,
