Hello Sunrise Rotarians!
The Rotary 5510 District Conference concluded yesterday with our club receiving a Gold Achievement Award for excellence during this Rotary year. I wish to thank all club members for a job well done as we received the top award yet again. In addition, Dennis Haberer and I were
granted District 5510 "Service Above Self" awards by District Governor John Pennypacker.
Madge and I leave for Florida on Tuesday for a week at the beach with family and friends.
President-elect nominee Alan Bakst will lead this week's meeting which will feature speaker Inga Varney who is a self described wine enthusiast, blogger, and wine advisor. She is also a member of the current Scottsdale Leadership class.
Looking ahead, our program on May 28 will be presented by Tom Tudor, an authority on the history of the Arlington National Cemetery and former relief honor guard commander at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. You may remember Rotarian Tom presented a comprehensive program on the Cemetery and his career last year at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library at an event sponsored by our club.
Enjoy this wonderful weather, and Let's Share Rotary!
