Thanks to president elect nominee Alan Bakst for running our May 21 meeting as Madge and I are enjoying beach time in Florida. Our speaker was Inga Varney who is a Level II sommelier. She shared with the club her professional path and her passion for wine. From the reports I received she did an excellent job and we should consider scheduling her to speak to us again.
Our program this week will be presented by Tom Tudor, an authority on the the history of the Arlington National Cemetery and former relief honor guard commander at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This would be a good opportunity to invite a guest to what promises to be a most interesting program.
If you haven't visited our club's website recently please do so soon. Olivier Wamain has done a great job updating it and adding features such as videos and photos from recent meetings as well as links to Rotary International sites.
Madge Adams would like to thank members who participated in the Healthy Packs project this year. Healthy Packs volunteers included Bill and Madge Adams, Scott Sherman, Ron Lofano, Abby Morris, Tom Ganahl, Evie and Dennis Haberer, Sandon Nixon, Mike Locher, Tom and Pam Billard, and Bob Sierk. Healthy Packs provides weekend food assistance for Scottsdale elementary school children who might otherwise not have enough to eat.
See You Thursday, and Let's Share Rotary!
