Our "First Pitch" event is scheduled at The Miracle League of Arizona for this Saturday October 24 with tailgating beginning at 8:15am. It's worth attending just to see Bob Sierk in his New York Yankee uniform! Seriously, Bob is the designated pitcher for the morning and does a wonderful job in that capacity and the kids love him! MLAZ is located at 11130 E. Cholla St. near Via Linda and Frank Lloyd Wright. Due to our continuing support our club has recently been designated an "All Star" organization by the Miracle League. We now have an impressive star on the MLAZ stadium wall as well as our Sunrise Rotary banner in center field.
Tomorrow October 19 at 5:30 pm is the last member small group happy hour at my house, 7721 E. Vista Dr. If you haven't had the opportunity to sign up for one of these events it's not too late. Just come on over!
Our speaker this week is Margaret Dunn, a member of the board of the Scottsdale Gateway Alliance. The Scottsdale Gateway Alliance is an organization dedicated to advancing investment and revitalization opportunities in the Southern Scottsdale Community and along the McDowell Road Corridor.
