We had another great Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary meeting on Thursday July 28th.
Here's a recap and a look at what's coming up.
As the Phoenix East Rotary Club is winding down their charter, they are sharing opportunities with other adjacent clubs. Thanks to our long-standing relationships with members of this Club, we were awarded a monetary gift of $2,000 to be used toward the 2023 Special Day for Special Kids event!

The Queen Pays!
Finally, we have a winner! After going through the entire deck of cards for our 50/50 raffle, the winning ticket was held by Lauren Dessis. By picking up the final card, the lucky Queen of Spades, Lauren took home a little more than $800 prize money!
This week's meeting was quite busy! The room was full of Rotarians, a few guests, and two new visitors who may be looking to join our club.
Judy provided details on a few upcoming projects, including:
August 11th, packing leftover supplies to be distributed at Back to School 2023
Dictionary distribution in September (dates TBD)
Our speaker was Stephanie Walsh with Arizona's Children Association. We learned about their work with foster care and adoption programs, as well as behavioral health and child welfare programs.
We are back at McCormick Ranch this coming Thursday, August 4th. We'll hear from Ian Dowdy with Center for the Future of Arizona. Hope to see you there!
Finally, we will have a board meeting on Thursday August 4th at 5pm. The agenda will include updates from the various chairpersons, as well as next steps for our golf tournament on December 1st. All are welcome!
