Greetings Sunrise Rotarians!

Last week our club received recognition from Danny Gallegos, manager of the Vista Del Camino food bank in south Scottsdale, for our efforts in keeping the Healthy Packs program alive. That program provides food for children on weekends when school meals are unavailable. Healthy Packs was on shaky ground when our club stepped up and provided at least two members every week to sort and pack the food. The program has now expanded to seven Scottsdale schools and meal purchasing and packing has been outsourced to Arizona Brain Food for cost effectiveness. Congratulations Sunrise Rotarians for making a real difference to children in need in Scottsdale!

This week I'll have the distinct honor of installing Bill Bergdoll and David Smith as members of our club. It's great to have Bill back as a member and we welcome David to Rotary. Please come to the McCormick Ranch Golf Club this week and say hello to Bill and David.

Unfortunately we recently lost a member as Lyle Dunham has resigned from the club. Lyle cites medical issues and travel as reasons he must leave us. I know all wish Lyle and Cindy all the best.

This week's speaker is Gary Dorris, a resident of Scottsdale and author of the book "Abraham Lincoln: An Uncommon, Common Man". His topic is "Abraham Lincoln's Leadership Traits."

See you Thursday morning and Let's Share Rotary!
