Last week's speaker was Don Henninger, Executive Director for Scottsdale Coalition of Today and Tomorrow (SCOTT), a 501c3 organization formed to explore opportunities for growth and development of business, services and cultural activities for the good of Scottsdale. Mr. Henninger's program touched on several interesting topics such as light rail and Desert EDGE.
Our speaker this week will be Elizabeth Singleton, who will tell us about "Tiny Homes". Tiny homes are built to maximize function and style. While the structures often measure less than 300 square feet, the tiny house isn't necessarily about sacrifice. This should be a most interesting program. Hope to see you at Rotary this week.
Special Day for Special Kids (SDSKs) is only twenty (20) days away. Please be sure to check with Bill Bergdoll for duty assignments. Also, remember our club meeting on February 22nd will be at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in the Pullman car next to Indian Bend Road. Bill Bergdoll will have the floor to bring everyone up-to-date for SDSKs. Breakfast will be catered by Wildflower Bakery.
February board meeting has been moved to Tuesday, February 13th, so it will not interfere with Valentine's Day activities. Board meeting will be at the Haberer's home (7329 E. Carol Way, 85260) at 5:30 PM. All SSRC members are welcome. Please RSVP bu Monday, February 12 if you plan to attend.
Bill Adams visited with Alan Bakst this week and delivered our "get well" card which was very much appreciated. Alan has begun chemo therapy treatments, and his attitude is very upbeat. Bill will keep in touch with Alan and keep us informed. Our best wishes go out to Alan.
