On Thursday, September 17th, we had 20 members in attendance for our club’s bi-monthly Zoom meeting. We had the pleasure of Allister Adel, Maricopa County Attorney, join us as our speaker. Great conversation spanning a wide range of topics including management of prosecutions during the pandemic and technological changes within the offices. We also learned of some of the substantial reforms in place including their robust diversion program that attempts to treat the offender, not just the offense. Victim services was also touched upon and we heard of a great program that utilizes K-9 services to help younger victims who may need to testify.
Thank you to everyone that took part in our post meeting video message. We will be sending this video to the children that are to receive their new dictionaries.
Bill Adams officially announced his retirement from Rotary at the end of the month. Bill has contributed 38+ Years of service to Rotary, not to mention his volunteer work at the Mayo Clinic and the Phoenix Zoo. Bill has always been a great Rotarian but more importantly a great friend to myself and our members. A huge heart felt thank you from all of us! (Please see a few pictures below. Sorry Bill, we had to include one with your famous hotdog hat!)
Our next virtual (Zoom) rotary meeting is scheduled next week for October 1s t at 7:00am (MT). I will be sending out an email with connection instructions. Our speaker will be Joan Serviss (Arizona Housing Coalition).
