Fellow SSRC Rotarians,

I have very good news to report in our Rotary Ramblings this week.  David Ortega has been unanimously approved by the SSRC Board as the President-Elect for the Rotary year 2016-2017 and will assume the position of SSRC President on July 1, 2017.  David has been a Rotarian since 2008 and was a past President of the Papago Rotary club.  David is a well known architect in Phoenix and Scottsdale and has had a hand in designing some of the better known buildings around town including the Pink Pony.  David will be joining the SSRC Board immediately and will be attending President Elect Training in March.  I welcome David to the SSRC Board and look forward to working with him.

Joe Ducey, the investigative reporter from ABC channel 15, provided an entertaining and insightful presentation at our meeting last week.  Joe discussed a few of the more interesting cases which he investigated and showed the footage which was broadcast.  Joe also provided a few tips to the members and guests about how to avoid scams and how to safeguard personal information.

This week our speaker is Donald Clinebell. Donald is a founder of The Service Driven Institute, a distinguished author, a powerful and gifted speaker and a true man of service.  Donald has a passion for helping people experience the power of service and extraordinary living.  Come the the meeting and enjoy what promises to be a memorable talk.

Please take note of the duty roster for the week.  If there is nobody signed up for a duty activity at a meeting, I may stick you in for a duty.  Also, I am going in alphabetical order of our membership roster for the 2 minute vocational talk.  I will be circulating a roster for November this week.

Yours in Rotary,

Alan W. Bakst, President
