Happy New Years greetings to all SSRC Rotarians and their families for a wonderful 2018. As your new president, I will try to help bring quality speakers with interesting and stimulating programs. Jake Duffy, as our president-elect is already lining up a great set of speakers for January beginning with Greg Podd whose topic is, “The Future of Rotary”, and nobody knows that better than Greg. It’s a great topic to encourage new members, so please try to invite a potential member.
Gerry Wissink, Legacy Foundation, CEO, will be our speaker on January 11th. Legacy Foundation has been a major contributor to SSRC programs for many years, and will let us know how they may be of assistance in the future.
Robert Stein is Deputy Chief Economist at First Trust Advisors LP, and is responsible for forecasting and analyzing economic indicators. We are fortunate to have such a knowledgeable speaker at this time of the year. Mr. Stein will be with us on January 18th. Again, what a great opportunity to invite prospective members.
Completing the month on January 25 will be a representative of Phoenix Rising FC, the professional soccer team here in Phoenix. This sounds like fun to me!
Jake Duffy is doing a great job recruiting quality speakers, however he’d love to hear from you if you have recommendations for other quality speakers.
Special Day for Special Kids (SDSKs) is just around the corner, February 24th. Bill Bergdoll is Chairman for this year’s event, so please let Bill know how you’d like to help.
Let’s all have fun this year, and raise the bar for SSRC contributions to our community and Rotary International.
