A couple of quick updates:
First... Speaker recap:
Our speaker this week was Charlie Huero, who has in the past interviewed Rotarians from our Club on the Be Kind Always podcast. Keith and Clark interviewed with him a couple weeks prior to what would have been the 2020 Golf Tournament... and we all know what happened there. I was interviewed by Charlie last fall, which you can listen to here.
Bonus - I misspoke during my interview on an item that only a Rotarian would know. If you listen to the episode and find the mistake, a prize awaits.
Second... No meeting this week:
We will not meet at McCormick Ranch this Thursday. Instead, meet us on Saturday morning at 9am for our Club's Adopt-A-Road clean up!
We'll meet in the parking lot at Living Faith Church, which is at the corner of 71st St and Cactus Rd, immediately West of Scottsdale Rd.
The address is: 12201 N. 71st St. Scottsdale, AZ 85254
Also... No Single-Use Plastic Week:
Clubs across District 5495 are committing a to week without single-use plastic items. Our week began Sunday, January 22, and concludes with our Highway Cleanup project on Saturday January 28.
During this week, we'll commit to avoiding things like bottled drinks, plastic-ware, and anything else wrapped in plastic and used only once.
Next... GMGC:
Preparation for Good Morning, Great Cause Breakfast and Special Day for Special Kids has begun. We need auction items! The breakfast will feature both Live and Silent auction items, which raises a lot of money for funding Special Day for Special Kids. Can you help locate great unused items for auction?
Then... Special Day for Special Kids:
SDSK prep is on! The committee had it's first meeting at the Railroad Park. Shamrock Foods has committed to donating at the same level again this year. We have money committed from the Mechanical Society. Shuttle vans are confirmed.
