Unfortunately our wiffleball team came up short last weekend in the Miracle League tournament, but year over year we definitely won most improved! Next year we'll come prepared and ready!

For those that missed the meeting last week, I'm proud to announce that Zack Smith has joined the joined the club. Zack and I go way back and I'm proud and thankful that he's chosen to be part of our group, ready to make a positive impact on our community. Zack is from the Seattle area like myself and is a VP/Loan Officer for District Lending. Welcome to the club Zack!

This week we're grateful to have Lisa Randall, Manager of Community Relations from Family Promise of Greater Phoenix as our guest speaker. Family promise rescues primarily first time homeless families from the streets and provides emergency shelter and basic needs in a sixty day program designed to assist their return to self-sufficiency. They even go the extra step to help secure employment and permanent housing. I'm very proud to say that our fellow member Neil Sutton is the Board President for the Board of Directors of Family Promise.

Next week on  October 4th, we have Brian Biesemeyer, Executive Director of Scottsdale Water joining us as our guest. Scottsdale Water is responsible for providing our city with drinking water that surpasses all the federal, state and local quality standards, which are actually stricter than standards for bottled water, hmm.

On October 11th, we have Thomesa Lydon of Lydon Senior Pathways speaking to our group. She started Lydon Senior Pathways after watching and caring for both of her parents during the final difficult phase of their life. The company's purpose is to help other families get answers and assist seniors in finding the correct facilities for care.

October 18th is a big day for our club as we are privileged to welcome the Sheriff of Maricopa County, Paul Penzone as our guest speaker. Paul joined the Phoenix Police Department in 1988 and served for 21 years. For seven years, he ran the "Silent Witness" program for the Phoenix Police Department. After retiring from the force he joined the non-profit group, Childhelp as Vice President. We are all familiar with the hard fought election he won against Joe Arpaio in 2016 and since then he's vowed to run the office in a nonpartisan way. Please join us to give him a warm welcome and hear what he has to say.

Finally, October 25th, HAPPY HOUR!!! Happy hour starts at 5:30 PM, McCormick Ranch Golf Club Bar. There's really not much more to say than let's have some fun! I'll bring a couple putters in case we want to have a putting contest while having some brewskis...

See you all soon!

My Best,
Jake
