On Thursday, October 29th, we had 20 members in attendance for our club’s bi-monthly Zoom meeting. We had the pleasure of Sari Custer, Chief Science & Curiosity Officer at the Arizona Science Center, joining us. Wonderful talk and the center is truly amazing. They provided over half a million field trips, provide 100 tons of real snow for kids to play in, travel state wide, offer teacher professional development, and of course open the minds of kids and adults alike to the amazing world of science. (We also saw what happens when you mix liquid nitrogen with boiling water... boom!)
Our SSRC Visioncare Foundation presented $10,000 a piece to our guests from the Foundation for Blind Children and the Arizona Industries for the Blind! We will be making another donation to the Miracle League of Arizona at an upcoming meeting. (Please see attached photo)
Hybrid Meetings Update: We are inching ever so closer! We are expecting proposals from locations on Monday. Announcements will be made as soon as possible.
Our next virtual (Zoom) rotary meeting is scheduled next week for November 12th at 7:00am (GMT). I will be sending out an email with connection instructions. Our speaker will be Christina Wagner with the Military Assistance Mission.
I look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday. Have a great week!
Best Regards,
2020-2021, President – Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary Club
