On Thursday, December 17th, we had 18 participants for our club’s bi-monthly Zoom meeting. We had a fun meeting catching up with one another! We also welcomed special guests Jean and David. Jean Herschede, spoke about Amigos de Guatemala, the project for which we recently approved an $800 donation.
Officers: We are proud to announce that everyone on the ballot for Craig’s term as President has been elected. Congratulations!
2020 in Review:
This year has been a difficult one to say the least but I am truly proud of how our club has stuck together and continued to help the community. I am honored to call you all fellow Rotarians and more importantly friends. We have made adjustments and kept pushing forward. I think we all look forward to 2021 and the hope that it brings. I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy New Year, and a general good old Happy Holidays!!
Photos: I have attached a few photos of our last meeting as well as a photo from our Yukon friend, Tim Koepke. The group photo is of his Rotary Club of Whitehorse meeting last Friday.
TRVFA Grant: As 2020 comes to a close, please consider making a contribution to The Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona (TRVFA). Your contribution may receive a dollar for dollar Tax Credit. (Please speak with your tax advisor for confirmation). Tax credits donations are good through April 15th 2021. Last year Scottsdale Sunrise was one of the leading clubs supporting TRVFA with over $11k in donations. We are currently at 57% of matching that goal and in 1stplace in the district, but by only $100! Let’s pull together and make it happen again and push it even further!! Thank you to all that have donated so far.
Our next virtual (Zoom) rotary meeting is scheduled next week for January 7th,at 7:00am (GMT). Our speaker will be Melissa Guardaro from ASU and will discuss Healthy Urban Environments. I will be sending out an email with connection instructions.
I look forward to seeing everyone Jan. 7th in 2021!
Best Regards,
2020-2021, President – Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary Club
