On Thursday, May 27th, we had 22 participants for our club’s bi-monthly Zoom/Hybrid meeting. Our Speaker was Sandra Kennedy, AZ Corp. Commission, Commissioner. Insightful conversation about the ACC’s mission to ensure safe, reliable, & affordable utilities, railroad & pipeline systems, grow AZ’s economy as they help local entrepreneurs, modernize government agency, and protect AZ citizens by enforcing an ethical securities marketplace. We also welcomed our District 5495 AG Linda Fulmore.

“Hybrid” Meeting

• Our next meeting will again be held at the Family Promises building (7447 E. Earll street). We can accommodate 10+ Rotarians in-person. The building is located near Old Town Scottsdale and I will include details below and in my Zoom instruction email. (Please note I will be including the Zoom link on our club page. Click the speaker link on the left side of the page and you will find the link)

• Speaker, Senator Mark Kelly (7am)

The Senator will be joining us promptly at 7am for 15 minutes. I advise if you are Zooming in please be online by 6:50 am. The Senator has been provided questions from the Club in advance. There will be little time for a back and forth session so I will be moderating the meeting. We will not likely be able to provide any additional feedback from members due to our strict time constraints. However, if such a case arises, politics can be a touchy subject so just a friendly reminder the Senator is first and foremost our guest. Short appearance but should be very interesting!

Club Updates:

• St. Mary’s Food Bank: Rotarians helped pack at the food bank on May 25th. We are all very proud of our fellow Rotarians! (pictures attached).

• Club Social: We are looking to conduct a SSRC Social Event/Meeting/Installation on June 24th at 5pm. This will replace our morning meeting scheduled for that day. We will send out detailed instructions and Zoom capabilities will be available as well. Look forward to seeing lots of Rotarians to celebrate the beginning of Craig’s term!

Our next Hybrid (Zoom) rotary meeting is scheduled for next week on Thursday, June 10th, at 7:00am (GMT). Our speaker will be Senator Mark Kelly. I will be sending out an email with connection instructions and the new meeting location.
