Lots of things are happening behind the scenes of our Rotary Club. Things like our interviewing and giving grants to support students through The Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona; our work with other clubs in our district, the Rotary Foundation, and Project CURE to send medical equipment to Rwanda; interviewing, selecting, and sending six high schoolers to RYLA; the year round efforts of club members involved with fund raising, membership recruitment and retention, Special Day for Special Kids, adding new community service projects and scheduling those that continue, and scheduling weekly speakers; sending a representative to the Rotary USA/Mexico friendship meeting in Sedona; sponsoring incoming and outgoing Rotary Youth Exchange Students; attending District 5510 meetings such as the upcoming Conference of Clubs; early birds setting up the room for our weekly meetings; and much more! Ours is an active club that we are justifiably proud of! Thanks to all for making our community and world a better place.
Through the generosity of club member Terry Kutzbach we now have a real storage space for all our club's "stuff" that we don't use weekly. Bob Sierk is coordinating the collection of our club's documents, Special Day / golf tournament signs, pop up tents, etc. Contact Bob at rmsierk44@gmail.com or 319.321.5129 if you have SSRC items in your garage that you want to relocate.
Jeff Kida, the Photography Editor of Arizona Highways magazine, presents "The Beauty of Arizona" at this Thursday's meeting. This should be an extra special program and I encourage you to bring a guest and/or potential new member. Madge and I are in New York City so president elect Alan Bakst will preside.
See you Thursday morning and Let's Share Rotary!
