I have a couple of quick updates to share from our recent Board meeting.
First...
We have secured a location for our Pints for Polio gathering on Monday October 24th! Fate Brewing will host us.
They are asking for a headcount - please let me know if you plan to attend. There is no cost to attend; however, we are asking you to consider donating to End Polio Now either at the event or in advance. See more details below.
This coming week is our service project - NO meeting at McCormick Ranch! Join us Saturday morning at 9am for our highway cleanup project. Details below.
Then...
We are working grow our social media presence and are forming a committee with Ivy Borges spearheading the effort. She is collecting ideas for content; you can help! Have ideas for content that should be on our social media? Did you take a photo at a recent Rotary event that you'd like to share? Send it to sunriserotarysocialmediateam@gmail.com
Finally...
our golf tournament is coming up soon and we're starting to see registrations come through for golfers and even volunteers!
You can register your foursome and invite others in your network to come play golf with us on December 1st. See more details below!
Pints for Polio - October 24th!
We have a confirmed location for Pints for Polio - join us Monday October 24th, 5-7pm.
Fate Brewing Company will host us in their beer garden area. We are working on a beer special specifically for Pints for Polio, and you will be able to order food from their menu. I hear they have pizza specials on Monday nights... bring the family!
This Saturday is our monthly service project. Now that summer is over, we're back to our highway cleanup on Cactus Rd between Scottsdale Rd. and 60th St.
We'll meet at 9am, park in the Living Faith church parking lot on the corner of 71st and Cactus.
We'll have vests and a few garbage grabbers. This is a family-friendly event!
Speaker recap
Our speakers this week were Kevin Hollander, Brandon Martin and Darren Kinney from Phoenix Robotics Group, LLC. They are a team of dedicated roboticists based in Phoenix, AZ. They focus on using wearable robotics to ease the effects of physical labor on the human body.
Their system has been tested with the US Air Force.
We learned about this system and how it can help labor's reduce or eliminate back pain. Check out their website
We're looking for future Rotarians. Give the gift of Rotary!
Invite a friend, or call a Club member we haven't seen in a while. We're always looking for great people to join us in making a difference in our beautiful city.
