Congratulations Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary Club members! Due to your outstanding efforts this Rotary year our club received two major awards at last week's Rotary District 5510 Council of Clubs. The first was the Gold District Achievement award for our accomplishments in membership, Rotary International Foundation giving, club projects and programs, and administration of club activities (attainment of 2016 goals, election of 2017 officers, online activities, etc.). The second was the Silver Presidential Citation from Rotary International "for helping Rotary make a difference in the lives of people all over the world." This award is based on the achievement of 2016 goals as set on the Rotary International Club Central website. Our club is a leader in Arizona Rotary because we have dedicated and hard working members like you who genuinely care about our neighbors near and far. Thanks Scottsdale Sunrise Rotarians for making 2016 a great year for our club and community.
Don't forget our club's installation banquet scheduled for Thursday evening June 23 at 6:30pm at Pasta Brioni restaurant. We won't meet that morning and spouses/significant others are especially encouraged to attend. The cost is $50.00 per person and all members will be billed automatically. Please respond to Madge at madgeinaz@aol.com to let her know if you are coming OR not and how many will be in your party.
The title of our program this week is "Emergency Preparedness in Maricopa County" and will be presented by Jennifer Metcalf. I won't see you Thursday morning as Madge and I will be celebrating Memorial Day with family and friends at Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida. President-Elect Alan Bakst will run the meeting. Enjoy the holiday and stay safe!
See you Thursday morning and Let's Share Rotary!
