Fellow Rotarians,

Our speaker this week is Kelli Gower.  Kelly is an Outreach and Volunteer coordinator for Singleton Moms, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing hope and practical support to struggling single parents with cancer.  Members of the organization offer support including financial assistance, family meals, house cleanings, and a self run support group among other services.  SSRC looks forward to learning more about this organization.

On November 12, members and potential club members are invited to Dave Lewis's house for a "Fireside Chat".  The purpose of this get together is for new and long-time members of the club to get together to learn about the history of the Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary and ask questions about the Rotary world.  There will be a number of people with SSRC institutional knowledge who will be able to address your questions. The meeting starts at 6:00 pm and will end at 9:00 pm.  Light refreshments will be served.  Dave's address is 9883 E. Winchcomb Dr., Scottsdale.  We look forward to seeing you at the event.

Finally, I wish to thank Bill for standing in for me this past week.  I have tried not to schedule out of town meetings on Thursdays but sometimes it is unavoidable.  I am certain that everyone likes the way Bill conducts the meeting ( I do!).  Well, you get another chance to see him in action this Thursday as I will be in Sacramento, CA for the day.

Yours in Rotary,

Alan W. Bakst, President
