Fellow Rotarians,

Our speaker this week was our own Dave Lewis.  Dave shared his learnings at the recent Rotary Water Summit held in Phoenix.  The pictures, videos and stories which he shared with us through his presentation and the takeaway points he noted from the Summit helped our members understand that the the relatively easy availability of clean and inexpensive water most Americans enjoy is really a necessary luxury which people in other developing countries do not have.  Thank you Dave for your willigness to share this important information with the club.

I am pleased to announce that Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary will be the sponsor of the Saguaro High School newly formed Interact Club.  This club along with the Notre Dame Prep club will provide support to our club for some or our activities.  More importantly, it will expose high school students Rotary and to the 4 way test to guide them in school, life and interactions with others.  Terry Kutzbach has graciously agreed to be the interface between our club and the Interact club at Saguaro.  Terry and I will be meeting with the advisor of the club soon to help get the club off the ground.

Our speaker this week is our Rotary Youth Exchange student Hannah Prachner.  Hannah will be sharing information about her home country of Austria and what she is looking forward to as a high school student in the United States.  As you will see, Hannah is a very cheerful person with a willingness to experience all that Arizona has to offer.  I will share some of her aspirations with you to see if we can make them happen for her while she is here.

Yours in Rotary,

Alan W. Bakst, President
