SSRC accomplishments were  recognized at the District 5510 conference in Flagstaff this weekend.  First, I was asked by DG Tonya Watson to represent SSRC on a panel of 4 club presidents from large, medium, small and e-club to discuss "Secrets of a Successful Club".

I told the people in the room that SSRC "secret" is really not one at all. All the materials and information for being a successful club are available through R.I. and the district.  The district and R.I. goals should be the starting point for every club's goal setting and strategic planning.  The key is for SSRC committee chairs to execute on their responsibilities as laid out in these documents with the support of the SSRC Board. Every member of the club must be engaged in club activities and contribute something of value to the club whether it is their time, money, energy, physical effort or ideas.  If that happens, which it did in our club this year, the club will be successful.

The success of SSRC is directly correlated to the engagement of all our members, the efforts of the Board Leadership and all the people who worked to make our club a fun and welcoming place to come to every week.  SSRC was recognized as one of only 5 clubs in the 34 club District 5510 to be awarded the highest honor the district confers "The Super Duper District Award".  At that moment I was felt very proud of our club and our club members.   l look forward to great accomplishments and fun at SSRC in 2017-2018 Rotary year in the new merged District 5495.
